The Thames Region Coach Education Team is holding its first Coaching Seminar on 22nd March from 9:00 – 17:00 at Hampton School (Hanworth Road, Hampton TW12 3HD). The event is intended for anyone who coaches, qualified or not qualified, sliding seat or fixed seat, new or experienced; you do not have to be a British Rowing member.
This is a great opportunity to meet other coaches in the region, to share experiences and learn new skills. The day will be split into 4 time slots and you can select 4 topics from the 9 offered. Each topic will be run more than once in a day so that group sizes can be kept small enough to encourage discussion and participation. Full details, including a description of each topic, can be found in the attached document. We are offering the following topics:
Building the Foundations (Developing new rowers)
Developing skills after Learn to Row
Exploring ways of safely generating more power in the rowing stroke
Indoor Rowing for Fun
Integrating new rowers into your club
Learning the stroke
Safety Leadership Skills
Safety ManagementTraining for Masters
The cost is £40 including lunch and refreshments. We are offering an Early Bird booking discount, so if you book your place before 24th February it will cost you £35. We are hoping that this will become a regular event.
